Christian Education for Children and Youth

One of the most important jobs of the Christian community is to teach the good news of Jesus Christ.

In our younger grades (4 years old through 4th grade), we use a Workshop Rotation model for our Sunday School. In Workshop Rotation, the same Bible story is taught for three or four weeks in a row and the children “rotate” to a different workshop each week. This model recognizes that kids not only love repetition, but they need it to develop a lasting memory and understanding of content.

And Workshop Rotation is very “teacher friendly” as volunteers teach in a workshop that plays to their strengths, and they teach essentially the same lesson plan, adjusted for age appropriateness, for several weeks in a row! The workshops used can include: Storytelling, Games, Video, Drama, Food, Arts and Crafts, Computers and Music.

Our older children and youth use different curricula that are faithful to the Presbyterian / Reformed theological tradition and geared to their ages and interests, using our rich denominational and biblical heritages in application to their daily lives.
