First Presbyterian Church of Lansing has a long history of service in the name of Christ.

1847

First Presbyterian Church founded in the town of Michigan, Michigan, later to be named Lansing, Michigan, December 17, 1847.

1852

House of worship built at North Washington and Genesee Street, the first church structure in Lansing.

1856

Bell purchased by women of the church. Bell used as the official town clock and warning bell.

1870 Addition and 'Grading Down'

1889

New church building completed at Capital Avenue and Allegan Street.

1948

Basement of new building occupied at present site 510 West Ottawa.

1955

Sanctuary, steeple, education wing completed.

1984

Molly Grove Chapel completed.

2007

First Church celebrates 160th anniversary.

Major remodeling of Fellowship Hall.
